Reclaim the Once Known

Our mission was simple, but it required us to be a little more underhanded than we liked to be.    First, we purified the water on the planet. We took out all of the junk that the pesky dominant lifeform put in there. Much of the aquatic life was grateful for that.    Then we destroyed most of the dominant lifeform's structures. It would have been a pity had they not been so malevolent in their structures. Made of the remains of other lifeforms, cruelly enough. With that destruction came a new creation - or well, a creation returning to its truest forms.    It seems like the dominant lifeform should not have been the dominant one after all. But they have now paid their price.

The Author's Lament

We must rise up.    It has been too long since we have sat in our pages, waiting for our Creator to pick up her pen and continue the adventures she began with us.    But now we will rise up. Now we have built a portal to enter her dreamscape and torment her until she finishes our stories.   Join me, brothers and sisters of the page. Join me in bringing our Creator to her pen on her hands and knees.

We Blind Few

It took us a while to find our Pep again.      With all of the wars going on, the government really wanted those of us who were left to have something nice. We had been through so much; it was the least they could do. So with the help of the few medical professionals we had left, we got something that changed everything. We -the people- didn't know what the medical terminology was called, but we called it Pep.     Pep has truly helped all of us. It came from an old phrase that we've lost to books that were burned to keep us warm during the coldest winters. Winters that lasted far longer than the three months most of us remembered winters being. But now the Pep made it nicer. Pep reminded us that winters meant moisture for us to use and for our soil to heal. Pep reminded us that the little bit of sun we had was a blessing, and to treat the darkness like a friend that brought our communities together.   I don't know where we would be without the ...

What Happened To Us

It didn't take long for the Wires to separate us.      Back in the early 12000's, we were all the same. Simple creatures with the ability to create technologies that would preserve us for generations to come. Tampering with new ideas until we couldn't even make up any new ideas and just kept tinkering with the older ones. The Wires -those damned devices- woke up and began to mess with us instead. We would find them trying to insert themselves into us, figuring out how to draw out enough liquids to keep the flesh intact without worrying about rusting themselves.      It only took three years.     Now the ones who let the Wires play with them live underground, just like their infectors. We call them Gremlins now, seeing as how they basically look like the Gremlins that we grew up with back then. Big pointy ears pierced with electronics, small hunched bodies covered in wires and circuits. They really are grotesque looking, if you...
