An Anima Journey [Part 2]

Part 2   The stranger coughs. "Now I know it is you, Stranger Kadlec." He shuffles his body slightly to accommodate the wild woman's weight. "You know, here in Lannet, you are considered a warmonger for having a weapon."   Praza shifts her tiny bare feet to come into contact with where she assumes major blood vessels are. "An item only gains that connotation if it is used against another in a forceful manner."   The stranger laughs and wiggles under her. Something near his waist makes a familiar noise. "Then perhaps the coin in my pouch is also a weapon." He feels her weapon leave his back, then her body weight. He slowly rises to his hands and knees, then onto his feet. He hesitates before he turns to face Praza. Praza leans lazily on a black metal rod. Wasn't there a blade on his back? The stranger composes himself. "I am-"   "I don't care who you are." Praza interrupts him, "What I want to know is what you ...

Rambling about Parents

To the loving parents who dress their kids in shorts during freezing weather; To the gracious parents who neglect to discipline their kids when they need to; To the caring parents who refuse to give their children the space to explore their own interests or beliefs; To the generous parents who structure their children's life with no room for questions or adaptation; To the open-minded parents who discourage their children from questioning the beliefs they are forcing on their young minds; To the wise parents who cannot listen to their children when they need to express themselves; To the intelligent parents who reject what is necessary for their children in order to glorify their mature parental choices; To the forgiving parents who leash their negative thoughts and opinions to children who didn't ask for it; Shame on you. I hope that -somewhere in the future- you will look at what you have done with a new perspective. I hope you have not damaged your children ...

About 2020 Nonsense

I am not entirely sure what happened.   Up until this month, everyone was so excited for 2020. Everything seemed like 2019 would disappear and all of the past would just become a part of history that we all remember and learn from without repeating it. You know, like any other point in history. Oh, wait...   What is with all of this madness? Two things trending in the first week had me a little confused. Plague and war. Two metaphorical horsemen of a doomsday everyone is familiar with. Personally, I'm not entirely sure that "the end times" will happen on the grand scale everyone thinks it will, but hey ... I'm not writing to share my personal spiritual beliefs. Not this time. Instead, I'm here to comment and ask a question. I've been feeling the need to since I first heard about the trending topics.   What are y'all so afraid of? These two things are nothing new. So why the new wave of panic?   Now, my questioning comes from a long practice of s...

An Anima Journey [Part 1]

Part 1 So, starting this year, I'm getting a little more into the Tabletop RPG scene. The first one I am getting into is Anima: Beyond Fantasy, thanks to a good (albeit chaotic) friend of mine. This character -for the moment- is on her own journey in a world outside of the one I am familiar with. If you know about this game and sense that I'm wrong about something, feel free to let me know.    With all of that said, enjoy: An Anima Journey    The sound of armor and clashing metal.   The cries of bleeding victims.   "Mommy! Mommy!"   Praza wakes in an cold sweat. Was that her younger voice screaming for her ... mommy? She doesn't remember having one of those.    The morning sun forces her to blink. The sweating forces her out of her wagon and into the nearby forest stream. Praza strips and dives in before her drowsy mind catches up. The cold water refreshes her and makes her aware of the world around her again. She ste...
