An Anima Journey [Part 6]

Part 6   Kumoyama is the perfect place to get out of trouble. Everyone from townsfolk to town raiders know that Kumoyama's rough ridges and ledges make for a place of risk and reward. Praza, knowing that being on the mountain was dangerous, skirts the base while keeping her senses aware of her surroundings. A few people pass her by and nod to her. She nods back out of respect. Geralt keeps his steady pace and avoids the paranoid temptation to look at the rocks and listen to their tumbling. On the way, he spots an older man and slows down. Praza rolls her eyes. "C'mon Geralt. Let's go." The older man nods and watches her pass by. Praza stiffens up as he watches. Something feels off about him; it might just be her paranoia.   As the sun sets, she pulls up against the rocks and lets Geralt rest. She feeds him a wild apple and a bundle of wild wheat she gathered a while back. She eats a piece of an apple and hands what is left to Geralt. He snoozes faster than Praza c...

A Letter to the Christian Church

This is specifically to the Christian Church in the United States. If it applies to any other part of the Church, please feel free to share it with them.  ~~~   Dear Church,    It seems that -even in this time of distress and fear- we have been brought down to a low place. It seems that the chaos we experience both on a collective and individual level is a climatic sign of our sin and our transgression, and -the main focus of writing to you- our iniquity. This iniquity is our lack of care toward others, especially those in need.   Now, I hear many of you retorting back to me: "But I give to my church/food bank/homeless shelter/charity! I do what I can by volunteering too! What do you mean I don't care?!" And to that, I say this: Thank you for doing that. Now do more.   As an individual, any Christian (or non-Christian, for that matter) knows the Golden Rule: Treat others as you want to be treated. For some reason, we seem to be hap...

An Anima Journey [Part 5]

Part 5   "I'm surprised it took you only a day to make this." The stranger inspects the blanket. Its texture is soft yet sturdy; it smells magnificently musky like the forest itself. He looks to Praza. She is rather to-the-point with her business. He folds the blanket back up and pulls out a small pouch of coins. "Thank you. Here." She holds her hand out. The bag drops into her hand and compels her into a bow.     "I hope you enjoy it." Praza smiles. The stranger smiles back and walks away into the treeline. In the distance, Praza imagines the hushed impressed tones and looks of curiosity at the stranger's new blanket. Maybe it will drum up more work for her. Maybe-     Geralt's whinny startles Praza out of her thoughts. She shrugs and adds her payment to the small pile of gold in her wagon. She found the gold in the heavier bundle of yarn. Why anyone would hide gold in yarn was beyond her. It was almost five thousand in gold. Who would keep th...

Book Review #1

As some of you know, I like to read a lot of books. As someone with an  INTP personality, I enjoy learning new information or diving into new worlds between fiction, nonfiction, and poetry (don't read a lot of dramas or scripts). I wanted to share some of the things I was reading with you guys to give you an idea of something that might catch your interest as well.    If you would like to see more of this, please let me know. If you have any book suggestions, feel free to suggest them to me on  Twitter , on my  My Discord Server , or in a message (check the sidebar to contact me). I promise I will take them into consideration.  Now that we are done with an intro to the series, let's go! ~ Book Review   The Big Sort: Why the Clustering of Like-Minded America is Tearing Us Apart Written by Bill Bishop   When I was first made aware of this book, I was at a time in my information scouting where I wanted to know what made United St...
