Ani, Why Haven't You Been Writing As Many Fiction Pieces Here?

Honestly, dearest reader, it's because I'm tired.      I am still writing things, but a lot of it is either for a small group of people (D&D campaigns) or working toward a goal (self-publishing). On top of that, I have been put on an early morning work schedule that doesn't really bring me a lot of energy when I get home. Hopefully, that will be fixed soon.      Don't worry, I will be writing more content soon. More fiction content, anyway. In the meantime, I hope you stick around for my shenanigans.  With Love and Strength, Ani ~ Written on 24 March 2025

Book Review #12

Missing You, Metropolis By Gary Jackson      I got this book a while back. At least before college, so I would say 2011 or 2012. I don't remember how it came into my possession, but I'm glad it did. This was a delight to read.      First of all, for you guys who are into superheroes and comics, this is a nice little detour off of the comic strips. A lot of the poetry (yes, a poetry book! gasp!) has details and entire poems written from the perspectives of either superheroes or those who live in the same universe as the superheroes. They are a nice little bite of the comic world, and Jackson even has a small section in the book where he tells everyone which comic he took inspiration from!      For those of you who are not into superheroes or comics as much, this is still a great book. In between the details from comics, there are other poems that hint at things beyond the comic strip. I particularly enjoyed these poems, especially in the first...

The Addicraft Series, Part 4/Finale [Repost]

4: New Seasons of Addiction   I felt the corruption from a distance, but never knew what it was.   "We always joked about it, but never thought the world we lived in would get corrupted like it did." Churro says during our usual monthly meeting.     At least it didn't get to the point of complete corruption. I thought, keeping my hands busy with other story-writing and music collecting.    "So, we will have to leave everything behind and go to a new world in March." Ballzz continues from Churro's comment. "We're thinking we will use our usual portal-hopping technique to get to a new world."   I sigh at the thought of it. The usual portal-hoping technique meant putting everyone but the leaders (Churro, Ballzz, Lost, and Zaring) to sleep while they used whatever magic or sorcery they had to get us there. I never really knew what that was, and never really had to use it, but it was definitely something.   "Well, ...

This Thought Needs to Be Expressed

Hey everyone!      I've had a thought the last week -mostly since Monday/Tuesday- and I would love to get y'all's opinion on it through any social media space you can contact me (or if you know me in real life, feel free to talk to me about it).      Lately, I have noticed a lot of anger on social media. Not as much in real life, but a lot of anger and downright fury on social media about how things are going. Granted, I feel the same anger in a much smaller sense. I'm not super happy with what happened, nor am I happy about with what has been going on since a big chunk of the not-happy stuff has happened.     But am I going to take out my anger and fury on this? Absolutely not.      We Americans have been warned for a while that things were going to come into crisis. We were warned that having the lifestyle we had as a nation was going to rear its ugly head if we didn't take into consideration what it was doing from the so-ca...
