Mamma Mia, Chapter 2
Mamma Mia: Chapter 2
Mia mentally scolds Arthur or his lack of respect for her library. He come in, wearing his 1990s attire: open dress polo, t-shirt with skull, and half-ripped jeans. He has his high-top shoes in his hand. At least he listened to that rule she made for him. He asks what she needed in a rather annoyed tone.
“I told you. You have an assignment.” She tells him. His mind wraps around the sentence. Of course, he asks if it is going on his official record for the syndicate. He always asks. When Mia nods, Arthur’s eyes glisten. The first official assignment seems to be a trophy for everyone growing up in the MWS directly. Arthur begins rambling his excitement when Mia holds up her hand to him. “I don’t understand male genetics.” She grumbles. Before he can make a comment, she continues, “Your first assignment is a favor for the Father of the AMS. His son Alonzo has not been in contact for several months, and none of his-” Mia pauses to find a good word. Her son suggests “lousy,” but she shoos it with her hand. As much as that word fits, her professionalism corrects her. “-incompetent men couldn’t find him. So they called on me for this favor. Pity for them; it’s the only one they have.”
Mia looks directly to Arthur and eases his look of confusion. “His last traceable communication came from R7-SS42. He’s probably still in that system. Take any of the search vessels you want.” She sends a written communication to her trusted teams of ship crews and their admirals. “You have three local weeks to find him and bring him back here for recovery.”
Arthur gives one nod and leave quickly.

“Alonzo Uccello.” The name rings around Arthur’s head. He knows that name from his Starlight, especially on GalaxC. He is one of the best on the boards: hover, skate, terrain snow, aerial snow, all of them. There are rumors that he took off to find a new terrain to board on. What new terrain can he find out in the oldest braids of the MWS? What is he doing outside of his own syndicate?
Arthur salutes one of the admirals. “You got the information from Mother Altamura?” He still feels a little odd calling his life-giver by such a formal title.
The admiral turns and salutes him. “Yes, Mr. Altamura. Every detail.” Arthur smirks and salutes the admiral. Arthur turns to the silver goddess of a search vessel waiting for him. He admires the sleek timber and white iron detailing. He touches the gold lettering as the entryway opens to him. Arthur mutters its name as he enters its main deck: The Feather.
“This thing is amazing, Arthur!” Carlo comments with a gaping mouth. “Are you sure I’m supposed to be coming with you?”
“I got special permission from my mom-”
“Mother Altamura.” Carlo corrects Arthur under his breath. “Have a molecule of respect for her.”
“-so it is all good. I mean, dude!” Arthur holds his arms out. “Who wouldn’t want to come with me across the Strings on an awesome ship to go find a missing famous entity?”
Carlo looks around the ship and shrugs. “A boring person.” He smirks to Arthur. “Good thing I ain’t one of them. Let’s go.”
Arthur nods his head and sits in the pilot seat. “Feather, take us to R7-SS42.”
The ship thunders and flings itself out into the Web beyond.
