Curious Moment
"You know, watching you actually straighten and solidify my history is sparking my curiosity."
I look to Renegade. It's the first time she has said anything all day. She has been my private company all day, especially when I am not talking to anyone else. She read a book or meditated while I was busy at work or taking my breaks. "Oh yeah?" is the only response I can give as I busy myself with writing in my journal.
She looks back at me with what appears to be either pity or sympathy. "You should get some proper sleep tonight."
I blink in astonishment. Normally she isn't this motherly or even caring toward anyone. Most of her character is cold and rigid for the most part. It makes me wonder what caused this small and temporary shift. "I will after I call my boyfriend." There is a really long pause.
"Good. You need more sleep tonight." Renegade states and returns to her book.
I want to study her curiosity about my current writing focus, but her return to bluntness shuts me down. I shrug and call my boyfriend. The whole time I am with him, I see Renegade eyeing him with a look of both annoyance and -longing? I'm not sure. I try to ignore her, but my own curiosity is growing.
