Canlanma Street Level, Story 11
Story 11
"I just can't believe we have to suffer for 28 days!"
"We are not suffering, Angel. You just make it sound like that."
"But it is! No travel, no entertainment, all the shops are closed, everyone's told to just stay at home and chill. It's so boring!"
"Yeah, but being at home during Qorrax is a time to get the rest we need."
"Rest? I don't need rest, Bea. I need things to do!"
"You can always spend that time making plans for renovations..."
"Candice makes a valid point."
"Oh, yeah. Renovations! I do need to spruce up my home and wardrobe. That is a great idea!"
"Thanks, Angel. I'm glad you-"
"But that is not what the Creator says we should do."
"Oh, for the Void's sake!"
"I agree, Donna, but it seems Angel is having trouble with that again this time."
"Look, I wouldn't have a problem if I was able to go shopping!"
"But Angel, we can't-"
"We cannot go impulsively satisfy temporary desires, Angel. Our Creator has given this time for growth of spirit."
"Look, Donna, I get that. But the only way I'll grow is experiencing a new play!"
"That is not true, Angel. There are other ways..."
"Oh yeah, like what? I'm not like Bea where I can just sit at home all day and call that 'growth!'"
"Hey, do not air quote my growth."
"But that's all you do, Bea!"
"There are other ways to grow..."
"Indeed, Candice. There are many ways that do not require material possessions."
"Well, I don't-"
"Another good point, Candice and Donna."
"Look, I just don't get the point of being bored at home!"
"You really do not get the point of this holiday, do you?"
"I don't think we should get into this..."
"Yeah, yeah, I know the regular lecture. That doesn't mean I enjoy it!"
"You are not always asked to enjoy it. The Creator made this holiday for self-reflection and improvement."
"I know that!"
"Then you must understand and adhere. It is not hard to do for 28 days."
"You know what, Donna? Your status as Most Pious here is annoying!"
"I do not know how that observation will help your situation."
"Tossing you into the Void could help!"
"Um..."
"That is not an appropriate response to your boredom, Angel."
"I agree, Bea..."
"I am glad you do."
"I'm sorry everyone. I just... I need to have something to do. I can't stand being bored and alone!"
"Well, you are Most Social after all. There has to be something."
"If you want, I can come over and we can hang out..."
"That sounds wonderful, Candice!"
"I suppose a night of food and crafts could be considered appropriate."
"Oh, Donna! What if we all work on our personal journals for the next two cycles?"
"That sounds like a great idea, Angel. Shall we all meet at my house?"
"Yes, Bea. You have the best place to get inspiration!"
"That sounds great, Bea."
"I concur, Candice."
"Wonderful. We shall meet tomorrow then."
