A Random Thoughts about Online Life and General Life

  WARNING!

This post contains opinions solely from me, Animus. Please take them with a grain of proverbial salt and read at your own risk. If you wish for a TL;DR, it is at the bottom of the post. Thank you, and have an awesome day!

The online world is the greatest recycling system humanity has ever created.

Not only does it recycle and repeat messages in fancy new packaging every few months, but drama online seems to be just as recycled on a longer timeline. Each time feels new and feels fresh, but in the grand scale of things online... It's all the same. Only the actors change, like a really bad theatre performance.

I would like to tell the online world (and possibly the people who read this who I know in the offline world) that really should be taken with a heavy grain of salt.

The universe does not give a fuck about you or your personal life the way you think it does.

Now, I know there is a lot online and offline right now that states that the universe works alongside and for you and on your behalf, making sure that everything you need and want is available to you. To some extent, this is true. The universe gives you all of the basic things you need to live on this planet. (This assumes that you believe that the universe is a conscious, sentient being.) However, this does not mean that the universe is purposefully and personally going into your every day life and making things the exact way you want it to be.

That's now how any of this works.

Personally, I think of the universe as more of a vessel that another being has constructed things in. And we, on this planet, are basically an atom in this vessel. Just like dust and sand is small to us (and atoms even smaller), we are tiny in the great scale of the universe.

So I find it a bit anthropocentric that this vessel that inconceivably larger than me actually cares. Then again, if you are someone who believes that the universe is a being, then this may be a different thing. With that in mind, I believe in a creator deity that cares about us on a basic level, so I could understand some of this concept from a "universe is a being" perspective.

With all of that said, I don't think that the universe or the deity that created it really goes into our lives and makes everything just perfect for us in every way that we want or need.

This is a basic paradox of certain religious groups (Christianity especially) when it comes to what someone wants out of life compared to what someone needs out of life. Technically, all we need is to survive and preferably reproduce to keep our species alive. All of the other things are practically useless to our basic instincts.

To end these thoughts off, I would like to scream something to the human population on this planet.

Stop self-fulfilling "prophesies" and constantly playing the victim to every little thing you can think of.

Please, please absorb this. It ties into the previous thought. On a grand scale, the universe doesn't really care the way you want it to.

On a much smaller scale, the society you live in doesn't really care the way you want it to.

The next time you are travelling or just enjoying the outdoors, I want you to look around for people. As soon as you notice someone, I want you to just think about how little that person knows you. The person you are looking at, that is going about their own life, doesn't know you.

(Now, with that in mind, please leave the person you are noticing alone. This is not an excuse to go up and start chatting to them. This is a self-reflection time, not a social time.)

Please realize that, as a whole, the only people that know you well enough to have an opinion of you are close friends and close family. Everyone else in this world have other things in their life to deal with that have absolutely nothing to do with you. So keeping that in the front of your brain, do you think that it would be a wise idea to put yourself out there in a way that makes you look utterly ridiculous? I highly doubt you want to.

Yet, that is how you look whenever you find some new way to identify yourself public and claim that you are being forced to suffer because of it.

Now, this isn't saying that you should stop identifying parts of your life. Quite the opposite! I would encourage discovering as much about yourself as you can! But does this mean you need to share that with everyone in the universe and then feel hurt or discouraged when everyone doesn't give you the validation and attention you need? No.

In all honesty, if you need to share your discoveries with someone, then share with those you feel safe with sharing. Those are the ones who will be able to support you and give you the encouragement to keep discovering and questioning things.

That space should not include the public unless you are willing to endure the indifference without whining about it. As I have said before, the universe and people in general really don't give a fuck. They are just trying to live their lives and make sure everything stays afloat. Unless you are a part of their life, they can't be bothered to add you in. Sure, they can hope and pray for you to have a good life, but that doesn't make you a part of their life.

To be clear, I feel that all consenting adult humans should be legally allowed to live their lives how they please without fear of severe, unjust punishment or oppression. Life how you like, put things in and on your body how you please, marry and fuck whomever consenting adult human you wish to, and die how you wish to.

Beyond that, keep in mind that what your personal preferences or identity are will have no bearing on another human's life unless that human has a close connection to you.

So please, keep the "politics" about your personal life to a minimum. Because it is basically drama with a fancy name. And hardly any human has time for drama nowadays. And if you have time for drama, please feel free to pick something else to occupy your time. Maybe some self-reflection, a new hobby, or sitting in silence while you stare upward.

And if you insist on playing the victim to your own identity and preference drama in hopes of dragging me into it, consider this your warning. I will be having none of that garbage. Unless you are a close friend or family member (if you have to question if you are one, safely assume that you are not), I really don't care. I will gladly ignore your existence and quietly pursue my goals and social connections in my life. I don't care, never will in a million years, and be prepared to kill me if you want me to care about what you do with your life.

So, long blog post super short:

  • The online world is a great recycling machine for drama and tainted messages.
  • I think the universe is a vessel that doesn't give a flying fuck about what you want on this tiny planet.
  • If you want to start trouble over your identity and preference drama so you can victimize yourself, leave me and everyone but your close friends and close family out of it.
I hope to stream again on 30th April to catch up with everyone and talk about what I've been doing with my life since the last time I did writing streams. I hope to see you all there.

Love and Strength,
Animus
