I Know A Soul (W)

I know a soul who has the energy of a thousand suns and they all wish for blood and gore.

I remember the first time he came here. He was fairly new -just like I was- and the first thing he did was set their hovel on fire. I don't know where he got the ability to start a fire in a place where fire is only reserved for a fireplace or the river of fire between us and Hell, but he did. The next thing we know, a lot of us had to evacuate because he was too busy tearing everything apart and making sure any soul that was in his way was brutally wounded. Thankfully, he couldn’t kill us, though I’m pretty sure he would if he could.

Nowadays, he has been forced into a special section of the Land of the Dead that is built and rebuilt to keep him occupied. It basically looked like a small copy of the places in here that he could destroy and the divine beings could rebuild in an instant. It is a never-ending source of breakable things. I think they even tried to clone a few of the souls down here just so he had something more alive to rip apart for added fun, but that only resulted in Superbia claiming their clone got ripped up the most. As if that is a good thing. I mean, I wish it was my close, but that’s not what is important. What is important is they had to stop cloning us and just let him hurt them enough that they refused to come back anymore. Now most of our clones just sit at the bottom of a locked filing cabinet near his little play area. I wonder if that means he can access it.

Then again, I don’t think it matters much anymore. Now with everything just open and free for travel, the only thing stopping him from escaping and causing some mischief is himself. Hopefully, without a divine being there to man the controls, that brute will be able to break through his prison and storm Heaven and Hell so that the others can’t get any of the goods first. I would rather have them first, but I would also rather let him destroy everything than let the others get a hold of anything.

Have you heard that there is a way to get to the physical universe again? I guess it’s been the talk of the Land for a while now. It just is a matter of breaking the veil between the two. But that veil is built more like a brick wall than any actual veil that I remember in my physical life. Then again, I can’t remember much. So I guess that’s a nice thing, if that sounds nice. It doesn’t sound nice. Everyone else seems to remember more than I do. All I remember is connected to my personal belongings, wherever they are right now.

Wait, is that him there? It is Ira! What is he doing? Ira! Oh… Ira’s going for the veil. How did he know the veil was here? You know what, I’m going to go with him toward that spot he seems to be running toward. Maybe I can get through before he can make a big enough hole for himself. You stay here, like you always do. I’ll be back.

Okay, well. The veil has been broken. Thankfully, for the first time in a long time, I can say for certainty that I got through before anyone else could. Even before Ira. So there. But at the same time, I couldn’t do much more than that. Ira got to a lot of the locations we can remember before I could. So when I got there, all that I saw was fire, ash, and nothing more. Everything and everyone that could have been in the physical universe as a living being was breaking through Ira’s destruction and going to the Land of the Dead. I guess that means we will have more friends to hang out with. Or maybe not. Perhaps that is lucky for us, especially you.
